College football has rivalry week at the end of the season, college basketball has bracket buster weekends. College hockey, with multiple matchups per season, does not have a similar event, but if they did the past two weekends would qualify as Rivalry 8 Days. A week after Minnesota-Wisconsin renewed the border battle while Boston College-Boston University squared off, this weekend sees 5 rivalry series across 5 conferences. As The Calendar Turns: NCAA November Recap

November was an interesting month to NCAA hockey and this season is starting to round into form. We had a recruiting battle lead to coaches yelling at each other post game. We had a leader emerge as the definite team to beat in the B1G. Atlantic Hockey has a program in their first season under a new coach in first place, a year after finishing in the league basement. The ECAC favorite is scuffling and could lose a top player to the Olympics, and picking a leader in Hockey East is murky as can be. Let’s take a look at what happened in NCAA hockey in November and look ahead to some December storylines.
